A running, driving manual-trans ‘68 mustang for $1750. If I wasn’t recovering from a broken bone and could actually work on it, this might be going home with me.

Ooo, that is tempting. But, garage house first for me.

If you don’t buy this you are bad at investments

More money is needed than it is worth to get it in shape. The only way to get your money back would to be to do a v8 and manual swap. I think the v-8s had a four speed. So new motor, trans, and everything else. So meh.
Maybe you can part out the panels and get your money back though.

A secretary six can be nice, but V8s, V8 steering parts and springs, and rear axles aren’t horrible to source either.

it’s a 6 and a coupe.
so basically a money pit.

Bones heal with time. Priceless mustang projects don’t last. You snooze, I buy!

Whoever has a teenager learning to drive, this is a great car for that!

If I bought it I’d do a junkyard 5.0/5spd swap and rough & ready bodywork/interior and spend most of my money on suspension/brakes/tires to make it a snarly little runabout that could actually handle.

Throw some paint, a new set of wheels, chrome and suddenly...
Please do it.

They dropped the price? It was $1900 a few weeks ago, been for sale a while. He doesn’t have any paperwork for it (I called a few weeks ago) but it looks solid for that money...I think they said the floors have been done. $1400 out the door, that would be a great price.

No paperwork is a deal killer for me. RI doesn’t need much, but a complete lack of docs means a royal hassle to register it.

Yeah, it kinda was for me too, also Rhode Island. My uncle has registered motorcycles with no paperwork in Vermont, apparently you can do classics there on a bill of sale all via mail. Once that was done he just transferred it to Massachusetts. Still, it’s an extra hassle I didn’t feel like dealing with, so I bought a car with paperwork instead.

Okay, i did swear i’d never again repaint a car after i did my own... but for this, i’d make ALL the exceptions :i

Wow! Suddenly...
it transforms from a notchback to a fastback!

It would also transform an inline-six into a V8, and a three-speed manual into a four-speed.
Paint is magic!

And steelies to... are those Torq-Thrusts? Always loved those wheels.

Yep, black 15x7 AR Torq Thrust D.
Original were magnesium, but those are stupidly expensive right now. Better go with new aluminium wheels and paint the center charcoal grey (or I think you can buy brand-new ones already painted).
